Wage day used to take our whole weekend.
My father runs a DPD franchise. For years, wage day looked the same every week.
He'd sit with the DPD portal open, going route by route and day by day, reading out stop counts. Our admin manager typed every number into a spreadsheet. Then came the hard part. Who actually drove that route when someone logged in as somebody else? Which deduction did we agree three weeks ago? Who's owed a top-up to the day rate?
It took the whole weekend. Every weekend. And one wrong number meant a driver's pay was wrong, and an awkward conversation on Monday.
So I built the thing we needed: one place where the rota, the stops, the extras and the deductions all live, and every driver's pay works itself out. Then we tested it against the pay sheet we'd made by hand, line by line.
Now wage day is a quick check, not a lost weekend. If wage day looks like that in your depot too, it doesn't have to.
